Paul describes how he was contending (even struggling) for the Colossian believers in prayer and proclamation, in order that they would be encouraged in heart, assured in faith and protected from deception. Paul's example and desire is a great lesson for the church today.

Paul's letter written to a church 2000 years ago is universal and timeless and is relevant for every generation, in every context, facing any circumstance; it’s a message of the unchanging supremacy and sufficiency of Christ, and the unshakable security and hope that is found only in Him. This is a message that we still desperately need to hear today.
